Tomorrow Is A Long Time Coming!

"One day the world may know
The things you tried to do;
Your efforts come to something
And your views be judged as true.

What you hoped for, way back then,
When truth was just for fools.
When nice guys finished last of all,
And the winners broke the rules.

Tomorrow is a long time coming,
For those who tell it straight.
For those who say:
'There's a better way
Than most have had of late.'

You blazed a trail but at what cost?
What difference did it make?
When so many, feigning sleep,
Still refuse to wake?

We may regret not listening
To what you had to say.
We may be forced to reconsider
Your words on Judgement Day.

Tomorrow is a long time coming,
For those who tell it straight.
For those who say:
'There's a better way
Than most have had of late.' 

For those whose road less travelled
Whose tomorrows paved the way,
Cherish them, they fought the fight,
Illuminated dark with light.
Be deserving in their sight,
On judgement day.
