HEAVEN BOUND

Wrote this in in April 2026.
"I knew a guy was young and tough,
Knew how to laugh and dance and love,
Afraid of nothing, wild and free,
All too soon he tired of me.

I knew a feller was hard and cold,
He'd cheat on me and my heart of gold.
Put some lawman in the ground;
No way that man is heaven-bound.

Heaven bound, heaven bound.
Will I make it if I fool around?
The glory or eternal fire?
When a broken heart is up for hire,
Your faith in everyman may run aground.

Errors a-plenty of a rough upbringing,
When I was young, hells bells were ringing.
Then I met a feller was deep and warm,
Funny and fine, he calmed the storm.

Little girl lost, was like he knew,
Everything that I'd been through,
Of all my sins I did repent.
Then just like that he up and went.

Heaven bound, heaven bound.
Will I make it if I fool around?
The glory or eternal fire?
When a broken heart is up for hire,
Your faith in everyman may run aground.

When your heart and soul are lost
And you're counting up the cost,
And the way it is continues to astound,
Do the wrong thing if you must,
But be assured the Lord is just,
And Karma is a thing that comes around.

Heaven bound, heaven bound.
Will I make it if I fool around?
The glory or eternal fire?
When a broken heart is up for hire,
Your faith in everyman may run aground."
