The Traitor Within The Gate

Wrote this and recorded it with the help of SUNO technology in May/June 2026.

So, how much help did SUNO give me? Well, the lyrics are mine. And the instructions given to get this particular result are mine. I haven't edited what you hear so SUNO's contribution is pretty considerable. But I did have to move through 10 reincarnations of the end product to get here because, to my ear, nothing sounded right. In other words, the results I was getting were pretty naff.

Then I wondered how the lyrics might sound with a Britpop treatment. The first of the two versions SUNO came up with wasn't up to much. This one, however, was, to my mind, good enough. I could have kept going all day but I didn't think SUNO would come up with anything better than this.

Voila!
"Do you hear Keir Starmer?
Do you feel the pure cold rage?
We can't unsee the treason seen,
Played out at centre stage!

As young Henry died,
His suffering ignored,
We saw the state for what it is,
A cruel overlord.

Should the traitor within the gate,
Suffer the traitor's fate?
And fall before our fury,
As we erase the hate?

Destroy a world that sang,
Where laughing church bells rang.
Import the alien hordes,
And watch the world go bang!

Starmer's fate is sealed,
Three cheers for Makerfield!
But don't relax just yet!
Burnham, you can bet,
Will be every bit as bad as him,
This truth will be revealed!

Should the traitor within the gate,
Suffer the traitor's fate?
And fall before our fury,
As we erase the hate?

When our children laugh,
At the Gods of wrong and wrath,
Perhaps then we'll forgive
Those who had us live
At the whim of a psychopath.

When Starmer is no more,
Bloodsuckers shown the door,
And we are back in charge again
Of narrative and law,

Will the traitor within the gate,
Suffer the traitor's fate?
And fall before our fury,
As we erase the hate?"
Q. How much of the above is down to SUNO's magic?

A. 40 percent?

Just in case anyone's interested, the song belongs to me, not SUNO. Copyright is wholly mine.
