My Lorelei

Wrote this song in 1970 and created this version in May 2026.
"My Lorelei don't write to me no more.
My Lorelei don't write to me no more.
My Lorelei don't write to me no more.

Well, the last time I saw her, I said, 'sweetheart,
Don't let things hold you back when we're apart.
For you know I'm a free-wheeling guy,
And I don't want life to pass me by.
Just write to me when you can
And let me know how you are.'

My Lorelei don't write to me no more.
My Lorelei don't write to me no more.
My Lorelei don't write to me no more.

Well, it looks like she's gone and took that advice.
While, here am I thinking that I should have thought twice.
'Cause the loving that I've had since she's been gone,
Well, it's cheap and mean and it seems all wrong,
But it's the love I've got, and now I gotta pay the price.

She never wanted no other man,
Never ever did she look around.
But, in adapting too well to my foolishness,
She's ended up, putting me way way down.

I didn't know that I needed her so,
She's found a new lover.
Some guy whom she knows
Surely longs for all those
Loving words lost on another.

My Lorelei don't write to me no more.
My Lorelei don't write to me no more.
My Lorelei don't write to me no more."
